FTOAK (pronounced F.T.Oak) was born a small shop in Thrapston, Northamptonshire, called Finishing Touches. In 2002 we attended seven Country shows, exhibiting our range of furniture for living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms, which we named FTOAK – FT standing for Finishing Touches. Four years on we were attending 30 UK shows annually, showing our ranges of oak furniture, ash furniture and quality leather sofas and Chairs. We also have an established website.
FTOAK prides itself on customer service and whilst we can never always please everyone, it is our aim to do just that. We deliver anywhere in mainland UK for just £50.00 and, if required, erect your furniture for you for no extra charge – mostly though this is simply bolting on table legs as (except for our wardrobes) our cabinet furniture is not flat packed.

Grange. Furniture for dining, lounging and, er, kitchen…ing
This collection of contemporary oak dining room furniture is perfect for those wanting a modern look.Our Grange solid oak table comes in two sizes: small and medium. Both have a tough lacquer making it ideal for kitchens or dining rooms so there’s no need to worry about spills, whether it’s little people at meal times or grown-ups with red wine. Not even overnight-curry will spoil this hardwearing table.
Our Grange small oak table seats six people comfortably. Our medium Grange solid oak table is longer and seats eight people.
Although our leather dining chairs and ash provence chairs will sit perfectly around the Grange table, it's our oak spindle dining room chair made from the same oak that looks particularly stunning. Elegant design with thin curved spindles from top to bottom and soft black leather seat pad make this oak chair comfortable and stylish.
To compliment our Grange dining tables we can offer two oak sideboards – small and large. Grange sideboards compliment your dining room and make excellent hall tables. Both offer good storage and even suit lounges as lamp tables or for TVs.
Our large wide wall mirror, in distinctive light oak, looks fantastic above our sideboards and makes your room look larger.
If you like our Grange oak furniture collection, we also have two small lounge pieces – an oak coffee table and small oak lamp table. The coffee table sits centre stage between your lounge settees and sofas making a beautiful and practical piece of furniture with magazine storage underneath to keep your sitting room tidy. The oak lamp table is ideal for lamps, plants, as a telephone table or just to fill a spare corner.
Valley, for the bedroom
Made from the same oak as the Grange collection (but in warm red oak stain and natural light oak) this elegant bedroom furniture will turn any bedroom into a showroom. Just add your own finishing touches to create an elegant dream bedroom.
Our solid oak spindle bed comes in three sizes: double, kingsize and super king size, and can have a low or high footboard. Its headboard is tall and elegant and makes a dramatic statement as you enter the room.
There's also FTOAK bedroom furniture to compliment your bed. There's three different chests of drawers: oak three-drawer chest (also makes a great hall table or sideboard), tall seven-drawer chest with lots of storage but slim enough for small spaces and our most popular six-drawer chest with four large drawers and two smaller drawers giving fantastic storage.
We offer two bedside cabinets – oak three-drawer bedside cabinet and our oak one-drawer Bedside cabinet with a useful magazine shelf – universal and great in the hall as a telephone table or lamp stand.
Finally, our oak dressing table looks great with our dressing table stool and matching oak dresser mirror. The dressing table has three drawers along the top and a larger one to the side of the table which also has a magazine shelf underneath – plenty of storage for makeup and jewellery.
Woodford and Victoria ash collections
Both these furniture ranges are made from a Chinese hardwood that they call oak but we call Ash. There's little difference between 'oak' and ash – both are hardwood of similar colour, only differing in grain.
Both ranges can be mixed (same material, same colour) and only differ in forged metal handle design and detail on top – Woodford furniture has a planked effect whereas Victoria furniture has a smooth paneled design.
Our first range of furniture was Woodford which includes bedroom, living room and kitchen furniture. Our Woodford dresser always takes centre stage in a room and compliments our Woodford refectory table perfectly. Our console table partners our refectory table for more of a dining room setting.
The dresser can be bought as a whole or separately, and its base makes an ideal cupboard with huge storage space.
For living rooms we have our TV stand with plenty of storage for DVD, video and satellite units and a sizeable cupboard for storage.
Our CD Coffee storage table has a multitude of uses. It serves as a coffee table but also half of it is drawers for CDs and the other half is for storage – the top lifts up and, hey presto, all those toys or papers can be put out of sight.
We also do a simpler coffee table – same chest design but with two large drawers for storage. Finally, if you’re looking for a more traditional coffee table check out our Victoria coffee table.
Chests of drawers include... Our nine-drawer chest which has been very popular for the bedroom – as has the 'his & hers' chest which also makes a good dining room sideboard because of its low height – tallboy chests, a campaign chest of drawers and, for huge drawer space, there’s our 2/2/2 chest.
Our ash bedroom furniture includes two beds: a sleigh bed and a stunning, and very chunky, spindle bed. To compliment the beds we offer two wardrobes in double and triple sizes (these come flat packed as not many staircases would cope with an assembled one). The wardrobes come with a base unit but can be used without and placed direct on the floor making it lower and more suitable for a child’s room – base unit can then become end-of-bed storage.
Our bedside nightstands compliment our beds and wardrobes as do all our chest of drawer units.
We now offer three different size bookcases – one in Woodford and two in Victoria. The Woodford bookcase looks great sitting on our nine-drawer chest making a great mini dresser. The two Victoria bookcases have very high shelf space so are suitable for books of all sizes and also those special ornaments.
The latest editions to our range of ash furniture is in Victoria and includes a wide screen television unit, compact versions of our sideboards and console table, and a stunning half moon table that extends to a full circle and looks great collapsed against a hallway wall.
We have another unit that houses DVDs and CDs, which can be used as an occasional table, and more traditional lamp tables, for brightening up those spare corners.
Our dining room tables in the Woodford range are made of solid ash and are refectory table style. We offer two different colours: light (its natural shade) and dark, and all are finished with lacquer and wax for a hard wearing, stain resistant surface. Woodford's refectory dining table is quite narrow (85cm) which suits many modern narrow kitchens and dining rooms.
Our Victoria ash dining tables come in three sizes in both light and dark colour finishes. There's a mini compact table which seats four to six and is very narrow at 80cm and ideal for small kitchens or dining areas. Our Victoria 5-8ft Dining table is one of our most popular tables and seats eight to ten people. Finally our Victoria 6-9ft dining table seats 10 -12 people when fully extended. On all of the tables the extension leaves store within and are easily operated by one person.
Country Collection
In 2006 we introduced our solid oak country refectory table. This solid oak table is ideal for creating the ultimate country look with added functionality of a modern dining table where extensions store inside. It's finished with a tough lacquer giving a stain resistant surface that will take all the spills and wear associated with a busy kitchen.
We also offer our Country table in a plainer, paneled, design giving a more formal dining room table effect. Both tables will comfortably seat eight to ten people when fully extended and six people when reduced to the smallest size. |
